December 30th 2015, Landscape has aired on the Dutch national radio station BNR Nieuwsradio with a one-minute pitch and short Q&A on Landscape and it's view on the importance of data strategy. Organisations should clearly think about the exact role of data within their organisations before starting a big data project or implementing expensive software.

Although this may sound like an open door, we have seen all too often that many organisations do not have such a data strategy. A good first step in forming a data strategy is assessing the existing data governance. Data governance includes explicitly stating data assets, mapping the data landscape, and agreeing about roles and responsibilities for handling data.

Landscape has developed a Data Governance Scan to quickly and effectively gather insight into any organisation's data governance in order for companies to get a grip on what steps to take next in their data transformation.
